This policy covers Invoice Manager for Sheets™. Every Marinette product has its own policy — see Privacy at Marinette.
Marinette ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. The following policy explains how our Invoice Manager for Sheets™ add-on handles your information when you use our Google Workspace™ add-on.
What data Invoice Manager for Sheets™ accesses
Invoice Manager for Sheets™ requests access to the following Google services in order to function:
- Google Sheets™ — to read invoice, client, and settings data you have entered into your spreadsheet
- Google Drive™ — to save generated PDF invoices to your Drive, accessible only within your account
Invoice Manager for Sheets™ only accesses data in the specific spreadsheet where it is installed. It does not access any other files, folders, or data in your Google account.
How we use your data
Invoice Manager for Sheets™ processes your data locally within your Google account to generate PDF documents from your spreadsheet data and save those PDFs to your Google Drive. We do not transmit, store, or process your data on any external server. Your business data never leaves the Google ecosystem.
Sharing invoices with your clients
When you generate an invoice and you have entered a client's email address, Invoice Manager gives that client view access to that one invoice PDF in your Google Drive, so you can send it to them. This happens only for the invoices you choose to generate, only for the client address you enter, and only for that specific file. No other files are shared, and the invoice stays in your own Google Drive.
Data we do not collect
Invoice Manager for Sheets™ does not store your personal or business data on our own or any external servers, does not send your data to Marinette or any outside company or service, and does not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Anonymous usage and error diagnostics
To know whether features are working, and to find errors we would otherwise never hear about, Invoice Manager records which actions run. A record says that an invoice PDF was generated, or that the sidebar was opened, along with an anonymous code for the account that ran it.
These records never include your data. No client names or email addresses, no invoice amounts, no PDF contents, no spreadsheet contents. The anonymous code comes from Google, cannot be traced back to your identity, and changes roughly every 30 days.
When something fails, Invoice Manager also records the error Google reported and structural facts about what went wrong, such as whether a tab was still present. The same rule applies: nothing from inside your sheet or your invoices.
These records are written to Google Cloud Logging inside our Google Cloud project, kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically. They are never shared with anyone.
How your data is protected
Because everything runs inside your own Google account and nothing is ever sent to us, your data is protected by Google's own security. Marinette never holds a copy of it, so there is nothing for us to secure, lose, or expose.
Google API Services
Invoice Manager for Sheets™' use of Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data retention
Your business data is never stored outside your Google account, so there is nothing of yours for us to retain or delete. The anonymous diagnostic records described above are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. All your data remains in your Google account under your control at all times.
Children's privacy
Invoice Manager for Sheets™ is designed for business use and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of Invoice Manager for Sheets™ after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
