From money log to meeting handout

"I inherited a PTA budget on google sheets that was hot garbage. I knew it would take me long hours to create something that I knew someone smarter had already done better. Marinette's product is AMAZING. The monthly treasurer's report populates automatically and just needs to be printed."

What's inside

Five tabs. The whole treasurer year.

Money Log

One row per transaction, with a running balance on every row. "Where's the money?" always has an answer. Room for 500 transactions a year.

Budget vs actuals, with charts

Type your plan once and the Actual column fills itself from the log. Anything over budget turns red the moment it happens, and two charts redraw themselves as you log: budget vs actual, and where the money goes.

The monthly report (or whole year)

Pick a month and it builds the whole handout: beginning balance, money in and out by category, ending balance. Pick "Whole year" instead and the year-end report writes itself. File, Print, done.

Optional extras included

A Fundraisers tab that recaps every event straight from the Money Log (goal, money in, money out, net), and a Deposits tab that matches every bank trip to the statement. Delete either if you don't need it; nothing breaks.

A full sample year

A Start Here tab with plain-English setup and a sample year already filled in, so you can see everything working before you type a thing.

Built for handover

Your whole year lives in one clean file. Your ending balance is exactly what the next treasurer enters as their starting balance.

Meetings and audits still run on paper: the Treasurer Binder holds the 21 printable pages for that side, and its forms mirror this spreadsheet on purpose. Collecting dues too? The Membership Tracker keeps the who-paid list, with statuses that update themselves and a chase list that writes itself. All three are built in the same style, so they feel like one kit.

New to the job? There is a one-page Getting Started as Treasurer guide: the handover checklist, taking over the bank account, the five-number monthly report, and what to do if the books arrive a mess. Read it free here, no purchase and no email needed.

Built by a former volunteer treasurer

It was made by someone who inherited a shoebox of receipts and a half-finished spreadsheet, and needed a monthly report by Thursday. Every tab exists because the job needed it.

The year starts in the month you choose. School-year groups run July to June and the budget and reports follow along. Calendar-year groups pick January.

The formulas are delete-proof. Removing the sample rows can't break anything.

There is no premium version. The report isn't hiding behind a second purchase. Everything on this page is in the file.

Common questions

A monthly treasurer's report typically shows the beginning balance, money in and money out grouped by category, and the ending balance. This spreadsheet builds that whole handout automatically: pick the month from a dropdown and the report fills itself in from your money log, ready to print for the meeting.
Yes. The year starts in whatever month you choose in Settings, so school-year groups can run July to June and the budget and reports follow along. Calendar-year groups just pick January.

Yes. There is no premium version hiding the report behind a second purchase. The money log, the budget tab with its charts, the monthly and whole-year reports, the optional fundraiser and deposit extras, and the sample year are all in the one file.

Meetings and audits still run on paper. The printable Treasurer Binder has the 21 pages that side needs: report forms with signature lines, cash count sheets, and the handover pages. It mirrors this spreadsheet on purpose.

And the Membership Tracker answers "who actually paid?" for dues, all by itself.
