Marinette ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. The following policy explains how our Calendar Sync for Sheets™ add-on handles your information when you use our Google Workspace™ add-on.
What data Calendar Sync accesses
Calendar Sync for Sheets™ requests access to the following Google services in order to function:
- Google Calendar™ — to create, update, and (only when you enable that option) delete the events you define as rows in your spreadsheet; to list your calendars and their time zones for the calendar pickers; to import events from a calendar and date window you choose; and to check whether events the add-on manages were deleted or edited in Google Calendar, so your sheet can show truthful statuses
- Google Sheets™ — to read the event rows and write sync statuses, event links, and settings in the one spreadsheet where the add-on is used
Calendar Sync only accesses the specific spreadsheet where it is installed. It only ever modifies calendar events that it created itself, tracked by per-row identifiers; it does not edit events it does not manage.
The add-on also installs a small automation trigger in your Google account — Google's consent screen describes this as permission to "run when you are not present." This trigger runs only when you edit your events spreadsheet (it is what marks an edited row "Pending") and cannot access anything beyond that spreadsheet.
Guest invitations
If you list guest email addresses on a row, Google Calendar sends those guests a standard calendar invitation when the event is created or changed, exactly as if you had invited them in Google Calendar directly. The add-on's preview tells you before any invitation is sent. Guest addresses are stored only in your spreadsheet and your calendar events, both inside your Google account.
AI-assisted file import (optional)
Calendar Sync can turn a file of events — a schedule someone sent you, an exported list, a roster — into rows in your spreadsheet. To do that, it sends the contents of the file you choose to Anthropic, an AI service, which reads it and returns structured rows.
This is the only part of Calendar Sync that sends anything outside your Google account, and it never runs on its own. You pick a file, you see exactly what will be sent, and you confirm before it goes — every time. If you never use this feature, it never runs.
What is sent: only the contents of the file you upload, and only at the moment you confirm.
What is never sent: your spreadsheet, your calendar, your existing events, your guest lists, or anything the add-on can see through the permissions you granted it. The AI feature reads the file you hand it and nothing else. It has no access to your Google account.
What Anthropic does with it: Anthropic's commercial terms prohibit training its AI models on this content, and Anthropic automatically deletes API inputs and outputs from its systems within 30 days, apart from narrow exceptions its terms describe, such as retention required by law.
What we keep: nothing. We do not store the file, its contents, or the rows produced from it. The result goes straight into your spreadsheet, which is yours. Nothing is added to your calendar by the AI: the rows arrive marked Pending, and events are only created when you review and sync them yourself.
You can use every other part of Calendar Sync without ever touching this feature.
How we use your data
Calendar Sync processes your data entirely within your Google account, moving event details between your spreadsheet and your calendar. We do not transmit, store, or process your data on any external server, and your schedule never leaves the Google ecosystem.
There is exactly one exception, and it only happens if you choose it: the optional AI file import described above. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you upload a file and confirm. If you never use that feature, nothing about your data ever leaves your Google account.
The anonymous diagnostics described below are the only other records kept outside your account, and they contain none of your event data.
How your data is protected
Because Calendar Sync runs entirely inside Google's infrastructure, your data is protected by the same security that protects your Google account: Google's encryption in transit and at rest, and your own account credentials and two-factor authentication. The add-on has no servers, no database, and no copies of your data anywhere. The optional AI file import described above sends a file you choose to a third-party AI service at the moment you confirm; we keep no copy of it at any point. Access to your spreadsheet and calendar is granted by you through Google's OAuth consent screen and can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately ends all access.
If something goes wrong
This page describes how Calendar Sync is built and how we operate it. Software can have bugs. If we ever learn that a defect caused data to be handled differently than this page describes, we will fix it as quickly as possible, post a notice in the add-on and on this page, and reach affected users directly wherever we are able to identify them. Even in that case, the exposure is bounded by design: the add-on keeps no database and no copies of your data, so there is no stored profile of you to leak, and anything sent to Anthropic, intended or not, is covered by the same terms: no training on the content, and deletion within 30 days. No method of transmitting or processing data can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Data we do not collect
Calendar Sync does not collect or store your personal or calendar data on our servers, and never uses your data for advertising or marketing purposes. We share data with a third party in exactly one circumstance: when you affirmatively choose to use the optional AI file import, the file you select is sent to the AI service named above for processing. That is the only third-party transfer, it requires your confirmation each time, and it never includes your calendar or spreadsheet contents.
Anonymous usage and error diagnostics
To know whether features are working, and to find errors we would otherwise never hear about, Calendar Sync records which actions run. A record says that a sync happened, or that the sidebar was opened, along with an anonymous code for the account that ran it and a second anonymous code for the spreadsheet it ran in.
These records never include your data. No event titles, no calendar names, no guest email addresses, no spreadsheet contents. The account code comes from Google, cannot be traced back to your identity, and changes roughly every 30 days. The spreadsheet code is a scrambled fingerprint, not the spreadsheet's name or address: it shows when two actions happened in the same spreadsheet, nothing more, and it also changes roughly every 30 days.
When something fails, Calendar Sync also records the error Google reported and structural facts about what went wrong, such as whether a tab was still present. If an import from a link fails, the record also names the website the link pointed to — the domain only, such as docs.google.com, never the full link and never anything from the page — so a scheduling site that keeps failing can be recognized and fixed. The same rule applies: nothing from inside your sheet or calendar.
These records are written to Google Cloud Logging inside our Google Cloud project, kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically. They are never shared with anyone.
Google API Services
Calendar Sync's use of Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data retention
Your spreadsheet and calendar data is never stored outside your Google account, so there is nothing of yours for us to retain or delete. The anonymous diagnostic records described above are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Files sent through the optional AI import are not retained by us at any point, and Anthropic deletes them from its systems within 30 days as described above. Uninstalling the add-on leaves your spreadsheet and calendar exactly as they are.
Children's privacy
Calendar Sync is designed for productivity use and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of Calendar Sync after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
