This policy explains how the Review Requests for Small Business add-on ("Review Requests") handles your information. Marinette ("we," "our," or "us") publishes the add-on.
What the add-on accesses
Review Requests asks for permission to use the following Google services, and uses each one only for the purpose listed:
- Google Sheets™. To read your client list and to write statuses, feedback timestamps, ratings, and comments in the one spreadsheet where the add-on is installed.
- Google Forms™. To create a private feedback form owned by your own account, and to read the responses your clients submit to it.
- Sending email. To send the private feedback request, the public review request, the reminder, and the internal alert to you when a client's rating is low. This is a send-only permission. It cannot read your inbox.
- Your Google Account email address. Used only to fill in the "Owner Alert Email" setting with your own address. You can change or clear it at any time.
The add-on only touches the spreadsheet it is installed in and the feedback form it creates for that installation. It does not access anything else in your Google Drive™.
How the private and public steps work
Every client gets a private feedback request first. The public review request goes out later on a schedule you set in Settings, regardless of whether or how the client answered privately. A low private rating only triggers an internal email to you. It never changes whether or when the public review request goes out.
That design is deliberate. Google's review policies and the FTC's Consumer Review Rule both prohibit filtering who gets asked for a public review based on their private sentiment, so the add-on has no code path that would allow it.
How your data is used
Everything happens inside your own Google account. Client names, email addresses, and feedback move between your spreadsheet, your feedback form, and outgoing email. Nothing is transmitted to, stored on, or processed by any external server. Your client list never leaves the Google ecosystem.
How your data is protected
Because the add-on runs entirely inside Google's infrastructure, your data is protected by the same security that protects your Google account, including Google's encryption in transit and at rest, your account credentials, and your two-factor authentication. There is no Marinette server, no database, and no copy of your data anywhere else. You grant access through Google's OAuth consent screen and can revoke it at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which ends all access immediately.
What is not collected
The add-on does not store your client or business data on any server of ours, does not share your data with third parties, does not use your data for advertising or marketing, and does not track your usage beyond what Google provides to every Workspace add-on developer.
Google API Services
Review Requests uses Google APIs in compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data retention
Because nothing is collected or stored externally, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. All data stays in your Google account under your control. Uninstalling the add-on leaves your spreadsheet and your form exactly as they are.
Children's privacy
Review Requests is built for business use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of the page will change when it is. Continued use of the add-on after a change means you accept the updated policy.
