The carpool board and the snack sign-up boards (snacks, potluck, meal train and bake sale) are free tools from Marinette ("we," "our," or "us"). They are all boards, and this policy governs all of them, along with any other boards hosted on getmarinette.com. They work differently from our add-ons: instead of running inside your Google account, a board is a small web page that a group shares by link. That means it lives on our infrastructure, so this policy explains exactly what is stored, who can see it, and when it goes away.

Nobody signs in

There are no accounts. We do not ask who you are, and we do not know who is looking at or editing a board. Anyone who has a board's link can open it and put their name against a seat or a thing that needs bringing. That is deliberate: it is what lets a board work in a group chat without anyone installing anything.

What a board contains

Only what the people using it type in: a name for the board (for example, "orientation week" or "Saturday games"), the days and what is happening on them, and then whatever that board is for — on a carpool board, who is driving, how many seats they have and the first names of the kids in each seat; on a snack or potluck board, what needs bringing and the first name of whoever is bringing it. Boards also carry short notes such as "meet at my house" or "in a cooler." We ask for first names only, and for a street or area at most, never a house number, and the board says so. Please keep it that way. A board's link may get forwarded, and it is not the place for anything you would not put in the group chat itself.

Where it is stored

Boards are stored in a database run by Cloudflare, Inc., our hosting provider, so that everyone with the link sees the same, current board. Cloudflare's own privacy policy governs their infrastructure. Nothing about a board is shared with anyone else, sold, or used for advertising.

Who can see it

Anyone with the link, and only people with the link. Board addresses are long random strings that cannot be guessed, but they are not secret in the way a password is: whoever you send the link to can read and change the board, and can pass the link on. Boards are marked so that search engines do not index them.

How long a board lasts

A board deletes itself 60 days after its last day, and the board tells you the exact date at the bottom. Anyone with the link can also delete a board sooner, from the link under that date. A board with no dates on it does not clear on its own; delete it from the board, or email us the link and we will remove it. A sample board — the example one you can open without making anything — clears itself after 24 hours instead. Deleted boards are gone; we do not keep copies.

Email addresses

You can give an email address when you set up a board, and anyone can use "Email it to myself" on a board to have the link sent to them. We keep those addresses, and we use them to send you the link you asked for and to tell you about the boards and other things from Marinette. We do not share or sell them. Every message we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can email us at any time to have an address removed.

What we measure

This website uses Google Analytics, the same as every other page on getmarinette.com. For the boards that means page views, how many boards get made, and how often the share button is used — never the contents of a board and never who is on it.

Children's privacy

These boards are made for parents and other adults organizing rides, snacks and shared meals. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Children's first names appear on a board only because an adult typed them in.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the boards after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
